The Details step sets the basics of your event: its name, link, sessions, venue and description.
Fill in your event details
- Enter your Event Name. This is what buyers see.
- Add a Short Description, up to 300 characters. It's a brief summary of your event.
- Check the Timezone and choose your Currency. You can only set the timezone now, while you create the event.
- Enter your Event Url. Use lowercase words joined by hyphens, for example
summer-music-festival. Your full event link is shown underneath. - Add your session:
- Enter a Session Title if you want one, for example "Opening Night".
- Enter the Max Capacity, the most people who can attend. Leave it blank for unlimited capacity.
- Choose the Session Start/End Date, Start Time and End Time.
- Click SAVE SESSION.
- Enter your Venue Display Name, for example "Town Hall, Sydney".
- Start typing your Venue Address and choose it from the list.
- Write your Event Description. Include everything buyers need to know, such as age limits, what's included and what to bring.
- Open Advanced Settings and check the options (see below).
- Click Create Event.
Advanced Settings
- Is this event part of a tour?: choose a tour if this event belongs to one.
- Show booking fee: shows buyers the booking fee as a separate amount. On by default.
- Show ticket pricing block on event page: lists your ticket prices on the event page. On by default.
- Is this event private? Enable for a hidden event.: hides your event from public listings and search engines. This is on by default for new events. If you want your event to appear on the Pulse home page, turn it off.
- Secret Code: an optional code buyers must enter to open your event page.
Notes
- Running your event more than once? Click Add Session to add each date. See What are sessions and how do they work?.
- Timezone: choose it carefully. It controls when your sessions and ticket sales start and end. Once you've saved the event and left this step, the timezone can't be changed. To change it later, clone the event. See How do I copy an event to create a new one?.
- Max Capacity is the most attendance a session can sell, not counting add-ons. Sales stop when it's reached, whatever your ticket tiers say, even if some tiers still have tickets left.
- Capacity and tickets aren't the same. Each ticket tier has a Capacity Per Ticket, which is 1 by default because one ticket lets one person in. For a family pass, you could sell 4 tickets with a name on each, or 1 ticket with a Capacity Per Ticket of 4. See How do I create a ticket tier?.
- You can change everything else later by editing the event.
