What's the difference between a draft and a published event?

Created by Ticketing Support, Modified on Mon, 26 Oct at 2:55 AM by Ticketing Support

A draft event can only be seen by your company admins, so you can set it up without anyone buying tickets. A published event is live and on sale.

Publish your event

  1. Open your event.
  2. Click Publish at the bottom of any step. The warning next to the buttons, such as "1 to check", lists anything worth fixing, like a missing banner. Click it to see the list.

  3. Check the summary. It lists your sessions and ticket tiers, and anything worth fixing first, such as a missing banner.

  4. Fix anything you need to, or click the publish button to go ahead.
  5. Your event link appears. Use Copy, Share or View Page, then click Done.

Change an event's status

Once an event is published, the Details step has a Status field:

  • Published: live and on sale.
  • Draft (unpublish): takes the event off sale and back to admin-only.
  • Archived: for events you've finished with.

Choose a status, then click Save & Close.

Notes

  • New events start as drafts.
  • New events are also set to private. A published private event is on sale, but only people with the link can find it. If you want your event to appear on the Pulse home page, turn off Is this event private? in Details under Advanced Settings.
  • Publishing doesn't override your ticket tiers' sale times. A tier won't sell before its start time.
  • Each session also has its own status: DRAFT, LIVE or INACTIVE. See What are sessions and how do they work?.
