Creating an event, step 5: Checkout

Created by Ticketing Support, Modified on Mon, 26 Oct at 2:55 AM by Ticketing Support

The Checkout step controls what buyers are asked during checkout and on their order confirmation page. Choose from the standard questions, and add your own if you need to.

Standard checkout questions

Under Event Checkout Questions, turn each one on or off:

  • Age range: buyers choose an age range. Turn on Collect full date of birth to ask for their exact date of birth instead.
  • Gender
  • Address
  • Emergency contact
  • Collect ticket holder names during checkout: buyers enter a name for every ticket. Turn this off and only the buyer's name is needed, and it's used on all their tickets.

All of these are on by default, except full date of birth.

Add your own question

  1. Click Add Checkout Question.
  2. Enter the Question label, for example "Do you have any dietary requirements?"
  3. Choose the Field type: TEXT for a short answer, or TEXTAREA for a longer one.
  4. Add a Description if buyers need more guidance.
  5. Turn on Is optional if buyers can skip it.
  6. Turn on Show question for each ticket if you need an answer for every ticket, not once per order.
  7. Choose the Session, then tick the ticket tiers and add-ons it applies to.
  8. Click Add Checkout Question.

When you're done, click Save & Close or Publish.

Notes

  • Buyers answer the age, gender, address and emergency contact questions on their order confirmation page. Their order is already complete by then.
  • Every extra question adds time for buyers. Only ask what you need.
  • To download the answers, go to Events, click Event actions on your event and choose Download Survey.
