How do I make my event private or public?

Created by Ticketing Support, Modified on Mon, 26 Oct at 2:55 AM by Ticketing Support

Use the Is this event private? switch in your event's Details step, under Advanced Settings. Private events stay on sale, but only people with the link can find them. New events are private until you turn this off.

Change the setting

  1. Click Events, then click your event's name.
  2. In the Details step, open Advanced Settings.
  3. Turn Is this event private? Enable for a hidden event. on or off.
  4. Click Save & Close.

Private or public?

  • Public: shown in event listings and can be found by search engines.
  • Private: not shown in listings and hidden from search engines. Anyone with the link can still buy.

Add a secret code

For tighter control, add a Secret Code under Advanced Settings. Buyers must enter the code to open your event page.

Notes

  • New events are private by default. If you want your event to appear on the Pulse home page, turn this off.
  • To limit who can buy a particular ticket, use a hidden ticket tier with a coupon instead.
  • Tours have their own private setting, and new tours are public. A public tour lists all its events, including private ones. Want only your tour on the home page? Keep the tour public and make each event private. See What are tours and how do I set one up?.
