Go to Coupons and click New Coupon. A coupon can give a discount, unlock a hidden ticket tier, or both. You can create one code or a batch of codes at once.
Create a coupon
- Click Coupons in the left menu.
- Click New Coupon.
- Leave # coupons at 1 for a single code.
- Set Max uses, the number of times the code can be used.
- Enter a Coupon code, or keep the one created for you.
- Choose the Discount type: AMOUNT or PERCENTAGE.
- Enter the Discount value.
- Choose the Event and Session.
- Under Select ticket tiers, tick the tiers and add-ons the coupon applies to.
- Add any Notes for your team.
- Click SUBMIT.
Create a batch of codes
- Click Coupons, then New Coupon.
- Set # coupons to the number of codes you need. The Coupon code field changes to Batch Name.
- Enter a Batch Name, for example "Sponsor guests".
- Fill in the rest as above and save.
Each code in the batch is unique. You'll go to the Coupon batches page, which shows each batch, how many codes are used and active, and the discount.
To get the codes, click Batch actions on the batch, then:
- View Coupons to see every code.
- Download for a CSV file of the codes, ready to send out.
- Edit Batch to change the batch's settings.
Make a code that unlocks a ticket tier
Use this for special access, such as a presale or guest tier. It works with a single code or a batch of unique codes.
- Create the ticket tier and hide it. See How do I hide a ticket tier from the public?.
- Create a coupon, or a batch, as above.
- Choose AMOUNT and set the Discount value to 0 before you save.
- Under Select ticket tiers, tick the hidden tier.
- Click SUBMIT.
Buyers who enter the code see the hidden tier at its normal price.
Manage your coupons
Your coupons list shows each code, the tiers it applies to, whether it's active, how many times it's been used, and the discount. For each coupon you can:
- Copy coupon URL: a link that applies the code for buyers.
- Deactivate coupon: stops it working.
- Edit coupon: change its settings.
Notes
- Is active: turn a coupon off without deleting it.
- Show how many coupons are left: on by default. Turn it off if you'd rather buyers didn't see how many are left.
- A coupon works for one session only, and only for the tiers you tick. For an event with several sessions, create a coupon for each session.
- To unlock a hidden tier, tick it under Select ticket tiers. See How do I hide a ticket tier from the public?.
- Coupons can't be used on reserved seating events yet.
