You can change the name on any valid ticket from the admin, free of charge. Find the ticket under Tickets, click Ticket actions and choose Change Name. Ticket holders can also do it themselves from their account, for a small fee.
Change a name in the admin
- Click Tickets in the left menu.
- Find the ticket.
- Click Ticket actions, then Change Name.
- Enter the New First Name and New Last Name.
- Click CONFIRM.
The old ticket's status changes to Name Changed and stops working. A new, valid ticket appears in your list with the new name. There's no fee when you do it here.
How ticket holders change a name
- They log in and open My Tickets.
- They open the event and find the ticket.
- They tap the ticket's menu and choose Change Name.
- They enter the new first and last name and tap CONFIRM.
They pay a small fee to secure and authorise the change. It's between $2 and $5.50, depending on the ticket price. You don't pay it.
Turn self-service name changes on or off
- Click Events, click your event's name, then click Tickets.
- Click the tier's name and open Advanced Settings.
- Turn Enable ticket name changes on or off. It's on by default.
- Click Save.
Notes
- Resend the order afterwards so the new ticket holder has it. See How do I resend tickets to a buyer?.
- Every change is recorded. Click Ticket actions, then View History, to see who changed what and when.
- If you're checking photo ID at the door, make sure the new name matches.
- Scanning offline? Turn off name changes before you load tickets onto the device. See How do I check people in at the door?.
