How do I sell tickets on my own website?

The simplest way is to add a link or a "Buy tickets" button on your website that goes to your event page. We recommend this for most organisers. It needs no code and works for every event.

If you'd like buyers to check out without leaving your website, you can embed our checkout instead. This is an advanced option, and you'll need to add code to your website.

Recommended: link to your event page

  1. Click Events in the left menu.
  2. Click Event actions next to your event.
  3. Click Copy Event Link.
  4. On your website, add a link or a "Buy tickets" button, and paste your event link as its web address.
  5. Save and publish your page, then click the link to test it.

Buyers go to your event page, choose their tickets and check out as normal. It works for every event, including reserved seating, and buyers see every payment method you offer.

Advanced: embed checkout on your website

With this option, the checkout opens in a window over your page, so buyers never leave your website. You'll need to be able to add code to your website, or ask whoever looks after it.

  1. Find your event's URL in the event's Details step, under Event URL. It's the part after the web address, for example summer-music-festival.
  2. Add this line to your website, once per page, ideally just before the closing body tag:

    <script src="https://events.pulseticketing.com.au/embed.min.js" async></script>

  3. Add data-event-slug with your event's URL to any button or link on that page, for example:

    <button data-event-slug="summer-music-festival">Buy tickets</button>

  4. Save and publish your page, then click the button to test it.

You can add buttons for different events on the same page. Each button just needs its own event URL.

What buyers see

  • The checkout opens in a window over your page, with your event, sessions and ticket tiers.
  • Buyers check out as guests with their name, email and phone. Their tickets are emailed to them as usual.
  • When they're done, they close the window and they're back on your page.
  • A small "Powered by" mark shows at the bottom of the window.

Payment methods

  • Cards work straight away.
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay only appear once your website's domain is registered with us. Submit a support request with your website address and we'll set it up. Until then, buyers can still pay by card.
  • Afterpay and Zip, if they're on for your account, need your website to use https. Buyers go to Afterpay or Zip to pay, then come back to your page to see their confirmation.

Notes on embedding

  • The event must be published for the checkout to open.
  • Reserved seating events: seats are chosen on a seat map, which the window can't show. Buyers see a Choose seats button that opens your event page on our site instead. See How do I set up a reserved seating event?.
  • Events with a secret code: buyers are asked for the code in the window first.
  • Don't put your event page in an iframe. Event pages can no longer be shown inside other websites. Use the script and button above, or a link.
  • Booking fees, coupons and ticket limits work the same as on your event page.
